আচ্ছালামু আলাইকুম, বন্ধুরা। একজন ইংরেজি সাহিত্যের ছাত্র হিসেবে আমি আপনাদের সাথে Compound Sentence কাকে বলে, এর গঠন ও উদাহরণ সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা করার চেষ্টা করেছি। আশা করছি আপনারা উপকৃত হবেন।
ইংরেজিতে প্রধানত তিন ধরনের Sentence হয়ে থাকে। Simple, Complex ও Compound। Compound Sentence কাকে বলে, এর গঠন ও উদাহরণ সম্পর্কে নিচে আলোচনা করেছি।
Compound Sentence কাকে বলে?
যদি দুই বা তার বেশি সরল বাক্য (Simple Sentence) সংযোযক অব্যয় (and, or, but) দ্বারা যুক্ত থাকে তখন তাকে Compound Sentence বা যৌগিক বাক্য বলে। যেমন: বৃষ্টি থামার পরপর সূর্য ওঠা শুরু করলো।
In English, When two or more simple sentences is connected by conjunctions (specially and, or, but) is called compound sentence. Example: The rain stopped, and the sun began shining.
Compound Sentence এর উদাহরণ
আমি নিচে চার ধরনের Compound Sentence এর উদাহরণ দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করেছি। সাধারণত, এই চার ধরনের Compound Sentence সবচেয়ে বেশি ব্যবহৃত হতে দেখা যায়। এদের স্ট্রাকচার বা গঠনও দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করেছি।
- The rain stopped, and the sun began shining.
- Mr. Hasan is fat, but his wife is thin.
- He has lost his purse, or it may have been stolen.
- Hamid is not tall, nor is he short.
- Either he will come, or I will go.
- Neither will she have her dinner, nor will she go to bed.
- Not only does he have a car, but he has also a house.
Compound Sentence গঠন
- Simple Sentence (Subject + Intransitive Verb) + and + Simple Sentence (Subject + Instransitive Verb)
- Simple Sentence (Subject +Intransitive Verb with Adverbial) + but + Simple Sentence (Subject + Transitive Verb + Object)
- Simple Sentence (Subject + Intransitive Verb) + and + Simple Sentence (Subject + Transitive Verb + Object)
- Simple Sentence (Subject + Linking Verb + Adjective) + but + Simple Sentence (Subject + Linking Verb + Adjective)
- Simple Sentence (Subject + Transitive Verb + Object) + or + Simple Sentence (Subject + Passive Verb)
